I remember being super excited for my first real job. I'd bought in to the recruiting nonsense. I wanted to cheer for it like cheering for my college.

It took me about 2 years to realize how stupid that was. The industry was designed for over 75 percent turnover every five years. Their business model depended on me not sticking it out.

I haven't found any reason to cheer for any company since, except to the extent it affects my bonus.
