The Worst Part of Squid Game

For some, the playground sucked

My wife and I got a bit behind on the zeitgeist with Squid Game, originally only watching for a minute before realizing we weren’t quite up for subtitles that night.

Now we’re caught up, and I see the appeal. Battle Royale wtih nostalgic playground games. Lots of blood, stress, and emotion. Plus that generic social commentary (rich people = evil).

There was one part that bothered me, though. It was when Doctor Doom explained that the world was unfair, so these games brought the contestants back to the playground where things were even.

Even? Seriously?

What the hell kind of playground did these people play on?

Just ask the kid who got picked last every game how even the playground was for them.

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug for the winners.
