What I find so weird in this cult of intelligence is that we assume that because someone is smart in one aspect (from IQ scores to Nobel prizes), we weirdly assume they must be smart about EVERYTHING.

If I'm lost in the forest with no access to any modern technology, I don't care how "intelligent" Jeff Bezos is, I wouldn't choose him to be there with me. I'd want someone who knows the area, knows the animals, the way out. Even if *gasp* they didn't graduate from high school, much less Harvard.

This example may be obvious, but we'll take something that should be equally obvious and miss it all the time. Sure, Elon Musk might be smart, but I wouldn't have him do my tax return. Dr. Faucci may get me to the right point on vaccines, but I'm not about to attend his economics lecture. That politician may be really good at getting elected, but the jury is out if they even know what Bitcoin is, much less that they can regulate it effectively.

And so on.

From my experience, everyone is "intelligent" about something. But nobody can know it all. Probably the smartest thing a person can do is figure out who to trust and when.
